PRICES 2024
Purchase your ticket on the ferry, when you travel. We accept cash and all major credit and debit cards by way of a wireless card reader. The crossing takes no longer than fifteen minutes but boarding the ferry can be delayed so timings given are approximate. The ferry runs seven days a week.
Drive a non-standard or oversized vehicle? Please note the specific guidance at the bottom of this page regarding this.
You do not need to purchase a ticket before boarding the ferry. We take payment during the crossing.

Service dates
We run annually from March 28th 2024 until mid-October. We will keep the site updated as to when we open and close for the season each year.
Times of service
Seven days a week between 10am and 6pm (10am to 7pm July and August). Every 20 minutes or as required.
Weather closure
Bad weather can occasionally affect the service. Signs are posted at each of the junctions to access the ferry indicating closure if necessary. The website and social media platforms are updated also. If weather conditions are tricky, please check before travel.
Get directions
From both Shiel Bridge and the turning on Skye you’ll find the ferry is sign-posted. We do our best to update this sign on days when weather affects service.

Minibuses
Note that the maximum number of 12 passengers is included in the Minibus rate fare. Additional passengers (more than 12) travelling with a Minibus will incur an additional charge per passenger. Please contact us if you have any questions about travelling in a large group.
Non-standard vehicles
If you intend to travel in a NON-STANDARD VEHICLE, then you should contact us before arriving to make sure we can carry you.
Rule of thumb is:
· 3 tonnes per axle
· No more than 10 tonnes
· Max 13 metres long
· Max 4 metres aide
Journey To Skye
Our ferry makes the crossing from Glenelg on the mainland to the remote village of Kylerhea on Skye every day from April to October, weather permitting. The journey is short (800m), although detours to allow viewing of wildlife are not uncommon. You may have to wait for a short time before sailing – sit back and enjoy the spectacle.
