Visit The Shore Station

Set on the hillside above the mainland slipway our brand new Shore Station features a Café and Shop. Throughout the year the purpose built Christopher Main Memorial Shore Station is used for community events, as our office, a hub for ferry business and fun. You’re welcome to visit us. We stock merchandise including the iconic “SKYE FERRY” jumper.

Shop & Café

A delicious combination; the most wonderful view across the narrows to Skye and hand-roasted coffee carefully prepared by our lovely cafe staff. A simple offering of quality teas and coffees along with handmade cakes, pastries and sandwiches. The menu is ever-changing at the Shore Station cafe – the quality is consistent.

Transport Trust Red Wheel

The National Transport Trust awards Red Wheels to sites of important transport heritage. There are fewer than 30 in Scotland; Glasgow Queen Street Station, Glenfinnan Viaduct in Lochaber and Orkney’s Churchill Barriers are among other locations with such plaques.

You can view our Red Wheel at The Shore Station.

The Isle of Skye ferry’s Red Wheel was unveiled in Glenelg at the end of the Summer Season in 2023. We were delighted and honoured in equal measure to accept the Red Wheel plaque from the National Transport Trust.
